Redefining “Integrity”

Dear Mr. Webster,

I’m inspired and privileged to be part of a John Maxwell program called #ChangeYourWorld. Last week our small group explored integrity in depth. #Integrity is one of your best words–an amazing quality that your dictionary calls:

  1. adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty
  2. the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished
  3. a sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition

I’d like your dictionary to please consider ADDING to your definition:

inteGRITTY

[inˈteɡrədē]
NOUN

  1. the ability to #integrate and connect one’s authentic self to others i.e. integrity must have an impact on others around us
  2. the continuous development of integrity i.e. requires honest reflection, occasional hard work, and #grit

Thanks for considering! I’d understand though if you didn’t want to change the official spelling 🙂
